“Build up of the search is bulls”

William B.

3/6/20

They make you wait forever for all the information to be “found” and loaded. Huge build up of drama that you will see secret stuff and graphic stuff. Bulls, that’s not the way the internet works. If Google can compile millions of websites in less than a second, this “search” could be done the same way. They just want you to feel “invested” in the time you’ve spent on their site so that you spend the money they charge to see the actual information. Waste of time!

Nowhere can you find information concerning costs on the home page or tabs. As you’re navigating thru the process, you begin to think that this will probably cost something. I’m thinking $3-$4 bucks for a single search. Only after you’ve invested 12-15 minutes of your time do they reveal that it will be $27.00 for a report. A total scam!

What a waste of money!

Nothing new except totally incorrect information.

All the information they had can easily be found with a simple google search.

They said my name was on some government watch list.

Yet they have no proof.

Fishing scam!

Deceptive tactics to keep you on the sire and wait for a bogus drama being developed. Constant lies about the report being almost ready. However, they collect information from you while making the reports. I analyzed site javascript — there is no actual record search, they just showing a designed visual script. The information is false and useless.

jakek64

Don’t waste your time, they literally have a timer counting down to when you can access the “report” while a bunch of fing bogus messages scroll through. (WARNING this person TOTALLY is on a government watch list!) and a bunch of other absolute BS. Reading some of the crap the site was spewing out made me want to off myself. I’m that much closer anyways

maep15

They give old, non-current info. Listed 10 year old crap as current address, city, etc. I happened to at least know the person lived currently in my city!

I subscribed, looked at my information, and most of it was inaccurate. I called to deactivate and got a deactivation number. They then refused to do anything about an incorrect charge made after deactivation. What followed was literally hours and days of emails and phone calls. They claimed they could not find my “profile”. I finally had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and block them from any further charges. If you need the truth about some one, look somewhere else!

Truth finder has no basis in truth whatever! Did a background check on my disabled son whom which I know has no criminal history of any kind and it came back with claims of

Being included in government watch lists and prior arrests. The only accuracy contained in his report was his name and that of mine and my husband. Don’t waste your time or money! If you want a accurate background check I suggest you contact the police department in the county in which the individual lives. Wish I could’ve given zero stars… this company is truly a scam!

williamh104

They advertise they can find someone’s date of birth and social security number. I need this information on an individual my daughter is dating, who claims to be a Marine, Iraq war combat veteran. I am a retired Marine, and I don’t believe he was ever in the Marine Corps. So, you pay them and guess what! No social security number, and only the month and year of birth, not the day. A scam!

kathryns278

. Rate zero! They didn’t even give me info I have, birth, where he lived, his parents, his marriage certificate and census papers. I gave them this info and they came back saying his WIFE was a POSSIBLE RELATIVE. They refused to give my money back. They relented and said they would give me half back. We will see. How disgusting.

If you are simply looking for an address, don’t waste your time. Their incredibly stupid dramatic search for information takes forever in order to keep you interested and engaged. However, I’ve been through this so many times, that as soon as it started, I closed it. It used to be that you could simply look up an address – no fuss, no muss. But now, since every fuing thing in the world is monetized, you can’t get the information unless you pay. Greedy Aholes. Don’t waste your time.

Checked a background on-myself and noticed to discrepancies, So I followed up with the State capitals mention in the background. They claim to not know me, or any such case pending. I reported this to Truthfinder and they asked me to (opt out) discontinue their use. A scam company with limited resources or unwilling to prove the information. They did not ask to refund my money also! Fake-Fake company- accepts any info and prints it. Assuming that NO one will follow up with a SLANDER suit. MISTAKE TRUTHFINDER! I will, or my son the FED will!

I tested truthfinder.com with name and age of a person I have known for decades. Truthfinder presented the names of several of his relatives then said tat he and them are all criminals. After a long and tedious process the site asked for my personal identifier information without presenting the charge for the service. This criminal mafia should have been taken of line many years ago

kelseya38

It charged me $10 for nothing Whatsoever and I was not reimbursed at all! It gave me absolutely NO INFORMATION

This place is nothing but a scam. Set up to bill u monthly for a background check many others could provide for anyone time fee and a lesser cost. They also use terminology used to confuse less adept users into thinking the person they are looking up is a a horrid person to make them want to pay for the report before actually getting any valid information

brianm656

They waste 10-15 minutes of your time, while they show you dozens of fake “progress” screens for something that really only would take seconds to retrieve. Then after suckering you in with all their phony progress screens and having you click on various boxes to make sure you’re still along for the ride, they hit you with what it’s really all about – getting your money. The next part of their scam is to then try to entice you to give them your credit card info for a $1 “trial membership” with free reports. Once they get your credit card info and you are “subscribed”, you will find they have designed it so it is extremely difficult to cancel that membership, and then the real charges will start piling up.

Further proof of their dishonesty is the way they post all these fake reviews, both on their site and on another site they apparently control – consumeraffairs.com All phony glowing reviews. OTOH, here, where the reviews are honest and written by real people, it’s all 1 star reviews.

Any company that conducts its business with such deception is inherently dishonest. Don’t give them any money

I have been a member of their site for a few months. I have been blocked out by them and attempted many, many times to resolve this. I sat on hold today for 34 minutes and no one ever came on. I tried again on my way home from work – 28 minutes NO ONE ANSWERS. Nothing like paying for a service you can’t use. I’d cancel, but until they clear it up, I can’t even login. It says I’m attempting to login on a new device, but it’s the same device, the only device I have used. Internet companies with $#*! Ball customer service need to pay the price.

Am writing a term paper on data brokers so did a search on myself. No criminal record, no graphic stuff in my background — but you’d never know it from the enticing “warnings” and “alerts” that popped up while the search is executing. The alerts explicity say that “graphic content”, “embarrassing” or “surprising insider information” may be in the report. Although the age and residential info was accurate, the “alert” messages are just scammy marketing laid on thick. Buyer beware!

Truth finder pops up with titillating statements that are untrue in their initial question and search screens in order to entice you to buy. In some cases it is slanderous but they claim they are not the actual source to avoid legal action.

I was in a rush today and needed to quickly look up someone’s address so that I could mail them a letter, so I found TruthFinder and I decided to try it out. I waited 10 minutes for it to access the report, and when it finally said it had collected all the necessary data (all I needed was the address), it required that I pay before seeing the report. Ultimately, this was a waste of time, and unless you are willing to pay $27.78/month to view it, don’t make the same mistake I did.

charless1027

I recently tried looking up someone by name and found the information matched with legal description I already had, however the persons listing real estate agent notified me she had died. Now, “Truthfinder” is harrassing me on my computer screen eachtime I sign on with large pop ups, that will not go away unless I pull them off the screen, then it comes right back. There is NO DELETE icon that they have for me to delete the harasment add. I have called the company and complained but nothing changed. I have been dealing with this since January 2020. I Am Sick and Tired of their Harassment!

toddl178

I did not give my credit card no. Because it felt wrong. I had responded to a teaser that i got in an email. Now they keep bothering me me using pop ups. That way i had no e mail address to give the FTC when i filed my complaint. The pop ups are getting towards LIBEL AND SLANDER.

It’s sad we can’t give the rating will we truly want to give. Hopefully one day someone will say we need to put negative 1 to 5 Stars, but until that day we have to just put it in our title.

Another rip-off company trying to steal a person’s hard-earned money. It’s good thing we can go to other websites to see how these people are cheating it’s customers the same way the customer is on their website to find a cheater. Glad I looked at their reviews before I purchased the non informant information. Learn from me in from the others who have been ripped off not to spend your money with these idiots
